Classic Raised Bed Scandinavian Red Pine
Gardeners like raised beds because:
- Tending raised beds from the side stops soil compaction and it is easier if you want to use a 'no dig' system of cultivation because there is no need to walk on the soil.
- Not so much bending with higher Raised Beds.
- Raised beds can grow more produce per unit of area.
- Much easier weeding with higher raised beds.
- Raised beds can be placed on hard standing or paved areas.
- Raised beds can be moved relatively easily if need be.
Our Classic Raised Beds have no screws, bolts or any other metal fixings that will rust.
Classic Raised Beds are constructed from 2 inch thick Scandinavian red pine. The raised bed side walls are jointed and glued. The corners slot together and are finished with sturdy corner pieces, topped with a capping piece to give a neat finish.
When the Raised Bed is delivered to your home, place the pieces on a level area - lift two sides at a time and slot the corners together, then slide the long dowel into the aperture. Finally place the corner piece on and tap the two small fixing dowels (per corner) into the holes that have been pre drilled. The only tool required is a hammer to tap the small dowels home.
Raised Beds with sides wider than 120cm with be delivered with a join in the middle covered by a capping piece (see picture of longer Classic Raised Bed).
